servomotor:-
A servomotor is
used to control position of mechanical load in accordance with reference
position. The complete servo system consists of two potentiometers which act as
error measuring devices. Their function is to convert input and output
positions to electrical signals. The command input signal determines the
angular position of wiper arm of input potentiometer. The angular position is
the reference input to system and electric potential of arm is proportional to
angular position of arm. The output shaft being fed from servomotor determines
the position of wiper in output potentiometer. The difference between input and
output position is error. This error voltage is fed to armature of
servo motor after amplification. In case of error voltage being present,
the motor develops torque to rotate output load in such away so as to reduce error
to zero.
